Unboxed Redmi Note 6 Pro

As we had mentioned before the Redmi note 6 pro isn’t a substantial upgrade from its predecessor but a more refined version of the Redmi Note 5 pro, The hardware is  the same ,the processor is similarly, looks identical from the back and  even has the same 12MP+5MP camera but there is a change and The change is in the Primary 12MP Camera which has the F1.9 aperture which is supposed to take in more light and improve the night shots

We met a balloon boy on our way out.. he graciously flaunted his balloons to us. First, we took a simple photo on the Redmi Note 6 Pro with HDR and AI off and then with HDR on.

When we compare both the shots, You can clearly see the light’s being spread out more on HDR adding in more details in the shot making it capable of clicking great photos in both low and good lighting scenarios, We think the Redmi Note 6 Pro clicks great pictures with a decent amount of details, captures a good amount of color even in low-light and doesn’t have too much noise or grain which we would say is the highlight of Redmi Note phone’s camera.

The video sample of Note 6 Pro also came out fine in the night. The EIS on Redmi Note 6 Pro seems to be trying hard to keep it stable even in the bumpy conditions. You can see here the banner is not always shaky and blurry but actually bringing it to focus.

Zooming in on the flower you can see that AI seems to bring in more color to the shots

I guess what AI does is, It increases saturation slightly and makes the colors look more popped out.

Redmi Note 6 Pro Portrait Mode Camera Samples:

The depth-mode worked its wonders in the portrait shots mimicking the bokeh effect brilliantly.

Redmi Note 6 Pro Indoor Camera Samples:

The best bit about the Camera UI the fact that it lets users edit pictures immediately after they are clicked, which comes in very handy if you need to edit in something fast. And If you click a face portrait shot you can play around with the blurred background of the pictures. This feature is a bit of gimmicky but It’s fun to use.

Redmi Note 6 Pro Front Camera Samples:

Coming to the front camera now the notch consists of two 20MP + 2MP front-facing camera, click’s good selfies with lots of details. Even the front bokeh’s appear to be well captured, with background properly blurred out messing up the edges in some photos. Edges were a hit or miss but definitely more of a hit than miss

Redmi Note 6 Pro Camera Samples Verdict:

Overall, the Redmi Note 6 Pro clicks neat bokeh shots with background smoothly blurred out although they are a few areas where we felt the phone could have been better, The edges of the bokeh shots which were bit of a miss in some of the photos And another area Xiaomi could have focused a little more was on the pictures clicked under extremely bright light, this is where the pictures clicked with the Redmi Note 6 Pro seemed a bit overexposed, which made some part of the photos look washed out.

Except for these minor nudges, I believe the Redmi Note 6 Pro clicks fantastic photos. The images it shoots from both rear and front cameras have tons of details, good amount of color, less noise & grain with fantastic dynamic range. Obviously  No, it’s not in the class of Pixel3’s or Mate 20 pro’s, but for the price, the Redmi Note 6 Pro produces fantastic photos.
