Group Video and Voice Calling

WhatsApp launched the group video and voice calling feature in their app this year by launching an official version for Android and iPhone users. Through this feature, four people from any WhatsApp group can talk with each other through voice and video calling.

Private Reply

WhatsApp beta version was given to the users and it had the feature of Private Reply for their Android beta users. Through this feature, the user can send a personal message to any member of that group during any group chat and that too without coming out of the group. WhatsApp stickers

WhatsApp has started offering stickers for its Android and iPhone users since 30 odd days before. These stickers have made the chat experience even more fun for its users. WhatsApp is already giving some stickers by default to its users, but if users want to download more stickers then they have to download it from Google Play Store.

Vacation Mode

Work is currently underway in the wake mode. WhatsApp has been working on this feature for over the past several months. This feature is similar to the Silent mode, which is already available in Android devices. It is being said that whenever this feature will roll out it will be available on Android and iOS platforms. This new feature will allow users to enjoy their holidays without any interruption and hence its name is called Vacation Mode.

Silent mode

According to the reports, the silent mode feature has started rolling out and this feature may already be available in some Android smartphones. Through this feature, user messages and chat notifications can be hidden. This feature will work with the Vacation Mode. If you have gone on vacation somewhere and you are bothered by the message notifications or chats, then you can mute them.

Linked accounts

In addition to the Vacation and Silent mode, WhatsApp is also working on the feature which is called Linked Accounts. With this feature, you can link your WhatsApp account with other services. The target of this feature is the WhatsApp Business App. After the official release, this feature will appear under the Setting tab. There is no information about what will be the real application of this feature, but according to the reports, this feature can be used to recover the password. Apart from this, your WhatsApp status will also be automatically shared on Instagram through this feature.

Stopping the flow of Fake News

In order to stop crimes occurring in India due to Fake News, WhatsApp has banned Indian users from broadcasting more than 5 messages to their contacts this year. Before this, the user could send any number of messages to multiple users and groups at one go, but now the limit has been reduced to 5. However, this limit is 20 in many countries worldwide.

Swipe to reply

WhatsApp is also working on the ‘Swipe to Reply’ feature. The ‘Swipe to reply’ feature has already arrived in the WhatsApp app for iPhones. It is also available in Android Beta and is now ready to come in Android devices. After the new feature arrives, WhatsApp users can simply reply by swiping to the right.

Picture-in-picture or PiP mode

In the PiP mode, while viewing a video or while tagging in the video, there is a small box on the screen to browse content, watch the video or do some other stuff. Users can also set Aspect Ratio for the PiP window. Devices with appropriate hardware and apps from this feature will be able to connect to nearby devices via Wi-Fi. This will not even require the internet connection to perform this task.

WhatsApp on the Jio Phone

Reliance has started giving WhatsApp on Jio Phones via the Jio Store. This feature for Jio Phone users was launched in September this year. Like smartphones, end-to-end encryption is also available on Jio phone 2 WhatsApp. This app is also offering its users the ability to record and send voice messages. However, Jio users will not be able to make direct voice and video calls from this app.

How to Activate eSIM on iPhone – Step-By-Step Guide

Apple has launched the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. In earlier iPhones, like the iPhone X, we had an only single sim slot. But the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max support Dual SIM card worldwide. The dual sim card functionality is provided with a primary nano-SIM slot and secondary eSIM card. To activate eSIM on iPhone follow the detailed step by step guide.

Apple has also made a statement in which it has mentioned that Airtel and Reliance Jio will support eSIM in India, and more telecom operators will be added in 2019. Apple officially rolled out iOS 12.1 update for iPhone users to activate eSIM or dual SIM functionality.

Activating eSIM support will allow users to use two numbers on the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. The new phone will have your normal sim slot and an additional digital sim that allows you to use a cellular plan from your carrier. But the digital sim will be embedded on the phone so to activate eSIM you need to convert your nano SIM to eSIM.

Here’s how you can convert your Nano sim into an eSIM:

To activate your second cellular plan, you have to make sure that your iPhone is upgraded to the latest version of iOS, which is iOS 12.1. If this qualifies, you can scan the QR code given by your carrier. Alternatively, you can also use your carrier’s iPhone app, or you can enter your information manually by yourself. Let’s see each step in detail.

How to Scan a QR code to activate eSIM?

  1. Go to Settings > Cellular.
  2. Select Add Cellular Plan.
  3. Scan the QR code that your carrier has provided to you using the iPhone Camera.

If there is a pop up saying enter a confirmation code to activate the eSIM, enter the number that your carrier has provided to you.

Use the carrier app from App Store:

  1. Download your carrier’s app from the App Store.
  2. Using the app you can purchase the cellular plan.

Enter the information manually:

You also have the option to manually enter your plan information. Use the tab Enter Details Manually, which you can find at the bottom of your iPhone screen.

You can store more than one eSIM in your iPhone and you can switch eSIMs by tapping Settings > Cellular > Cellular Plans and tapping the plan you want to use. Then tap Turn On This Line. Even if you register multiple eSIMs you’ll be able to use only one out of those at any given time.

Here’s how you can convert your Airtel nano SIM into an eSIM in India:

  1. Check if your iPhone has been updated to iOS 12.1
  2. Send an SMS to 121 eSIM <registered email id> for converting your SIM to eSIM (Check the image for reference)
  3. You will get an email from Airtel with QR code
  4. Open the mail on other phone or a laptop
  5. On the iPhone, go to Settings -> Cellular ->Add Cellular Plan -> Use your iPhone to scan the QR code that your carrier provided.

You will get a confirmation message regarding the eSIM change request. After that, if you reply with 1 within 60 seconds, your eSIM will be activated within a couple of hours.

By default the primary SIM would be the nano-SIM card and the secondary would be the eSIM which we can activate using the above procedure. You can even use the eSIM as the primary sim card of your choice, provided your operator supports it.

1. Use Primary as default line:

For the purpose of voice, SMS, Data, iMessage, and FaceTime your primary number will be used. For voice and SMS, your secondary number will be used.

2. Use Secondary as your default line:

With this option, a secondary number will be used for voice, SMS, Data, iMessage, and FaceTime. The primary number will be available just for voice and SMS.

3. Use Secondary for cellular data only:

You can make the best use of this option if you’re on international roaming network and you want to keep your local number for voice, SMS, iMessage, and FaceTime. In this case your secondary sim for data connectivity.

That’s the best practice to prevent your body from being spotted and it also shadows the flash and muzzle of your gun which makes it difficult for the enemy to spot you.

4. Aggressive Gameplay with quick shooting capabilities is a must!

It’s very difficult to survive in the FPP Mode if you are not the first one to fire a bullet in the encounter. You should have minimum reaction time and shower bullets as soon as you spot your enemy. It’s even more difficult to survive in the FPP in PUBG night mode.

To master FPP you need to play more aggressively. Get grenades, ride over enemies, intense firefights,  stun the enemies and hit a bullet straight through their head etc. In short play fearless!

Shooting enemies down is relatively easier in FPP than in TPP but you’ll have to practice it out in every mode.

5. How to technically improve your PUBG FPP Gameplay?

Yes, you read it right. After switching to FPP mode, you can manipulate the Field of view(FOV). You do get a 180-degree view on ALT but you can also adjust how much you want to view in front of you in your FOV Settings.

So, you can set suitable FOV which makes you comfortable to get rid of your enemies. Due to this one setting, I personally prefer the PUBG FPP Mode.

Earlier this month, Apple launched three new iPhones. But reality certainly does not look like anything close to peoples expectations. The company’s objective behind launching iPhone XR is a better user experience and the iOS ecosystem. Our verdict about the iPhone XR:

The price of this iPhone XR is $749. At the same time, its top variants cost is $899. Many users are thinking of buying the old iPhone 8 Plus as it has a lower price tag and a better option with the dual camera lens. But we would like to say that if you do not want to buy an iPhone for $1,000 or more and if you are not a big fan of 3D Touch, massive 512 GB storage then the iPhone XR can be a good option for you to buy an iPhone from Apple’s latest range of iPhone!

Can OnePlus 6T match up with the quality of iPhone Xs?

OnePlus and Quality are those words which are complementary to each other. All the range of phones brought to us by OnePlus makes sure that they last for years and years without getting stale in terms of design, OS & specification. For example, the one who is also using the OnePlus 2 for the last three years and is happy with his device even today. But after the launch of OnePlus 3, the company started launching two phones in one year from one phone in a year. That’s why we got OnePlus 3T and followed by OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. OnePlus 6 was launched was launched earlier in the year 2018, and here we have the OnePlus 6T by the end of 2018.

So, in 2018, OnePlus seems to be following the trend but the question here is that what all new features have been added in the new OnePlus 6T which will make it better from the OnePlus 6? To answer this question, we have come up with a full review of OnePlus 6T.

What’s new in OnePlus 6T Design?

In terms of Design, OnePlus 6T will not see any major changes. But after having a close look at the smartphone, we will realize that there is something new for sure. OnePlus 6T has been introduced in all-glass design. With this, the arc is placed on the rear with which the phone fits perfectly into the hand. OnePlus 6T weighs 185 grams. The dual camera is provided in a vertical alignment and placed in the center on the rear side of the phone. This makes it different from the OnePlus6 as the fingerprint reader is missing on the OnePlus 6T. Yes, OnePlus 6T has an in-display fingerprint scanner.

In OnePlus 6T, you get a 6.41-inch display and a small notch compared to the one we had on the OnePlus 6. There is a water drop notch display. This gives you more space on the screen. OnePlus 6T also has a feature which enables users to hide the notch. Talking about the screen to body ratio, it is 86%. OnePlus 6T has continued the look of a premium device in case of build quality. It comes in Midnight black and Mirror Black color variants as of now.

The new OnePlus 6T Display:

OnePlus 6T has a water drop notch design with 6.41-inch AMOLED display. Due to the aspect ratio of the 19.5:9 the screen space is also good. OnePlus 6T has been supplied with Corning Gorilla Glass, which makes the display tougher than ever before. The display is very good in case of clarity and brightness. Viewing angles are also good on it. OnePlus 6T has a resolution of 2350 X 1080. It sharp and crispy display when Night and Reading mode is activated. RGB sensors and front-facing cameras are provided inside the Notch on the display. OnePlus 6T’s display is also good for playing games like PUBG, Asphalt 9 etc.

The new OnePlus 6T Camera:

Talking about the OnePlus 6T camera, it is almost the same as the one we had on the OnePlus 6. It comes with dual-rear camera setup. There is a 16MP camera in which EIS is provided with optical image stabilization and aperture of f / 1.7. OnePlus 6T’s rear camera primary lens has Sony IMX 519 sensor and secondary 20MP Sony IMX 376K sensor. Its secondary camera is used to click the portrait image. This surely works better than the OnePlus 6. This is also due to the new algorithm developed for OnePlus 6T. 4K video recordings are done on 30/60 fps from its rear camera and videos can be recorded at 240 fps (1080p) and 480fps (720p) in slow-motion. The camera also comes with HDR capabilities.

The front camera is provided inside the Notch on the display. It has a Sony IMX 371 sensor and f / 2.0 aperture. The 16MP front camera also has EIS and can also be used for video recording at 1080p. Selfies taken from the front camera turn out to sharp. Both rear and selfie come with Bokeh capabilities. On this phone, the portrait mode gives very good output.

The new OnePlus 6T Performance and Battery:

OnePlus 6T is undoubtedly better in case of hardware, but it is a powerful device in the case of software too. OnePlus 6T comes with Android Pie 9.0 with its Oxygen OS. Qualcomm octa-core processor, which is the Snapdragon 845 SoC has been given in the phone. It is based on 64-bit architecture and offers speed up to 2.8GHZ. There is also the Adreno 630 GPU in it. The OnePlus 6T comes with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. All these specifications give smooth performance under intensive usage. OnePlus  6T will be available in 128GB storage and can be expanded up to 256GB of storage.

Oxygen OS on Android 9.0 improves the features like the full-screen gestures. Themes in OnePlus  6T can now be customized in RGB spectrum. Apart from this, OnePlus  6T comes with gaming mode. There are many good features, including locking screen brightness, including small floating notifications and much more. It also has a Network Boost which works for games and apps that require large amounts of data.

Using the phone with display gestures becomes a lot easier. Feature such as Wake, Double-Tap to Lock, Three Finger screenshots etc is also enabled on this device. OnePlus 6T will have non-removable 3700 mAh battery which is the largest battery ever given in any of the existing OnePlus phones. The phone’s battery lasts more than one day. There is a lack of 3.55 mm audio jack in it. OnePlus 6T is a dual-sim device. There are two nano-SIM slots in it. The phone is NFC enabled device.

Overall, in terms of performance, it is slightly better than OnePlus 6. But in the case of Battery Life, it is much better than OnePlus 6. OnePlus 6 is still one of the best Performing Phones of 2018 and OnePlus 6T will push itself to grab the top spot.

Our Verdict on the new OnePlus 6T:

OnePlus 6 can be tagged as the best phone of 2018 in terms of looks, hardware-software configuration & features, but OnePlus 6T stands ahead of it with the in-display fingerprint sensor, large battery, and other features. OnePlus 6T is not much different from the OnePlus 6. So, I will say that if you have OnePlus 6 then you must not consider upgrading to the OnePlus 6T for sure. But if you were waiting for OnePlus 6T all this while, then you should buy this phone without any second thoughts on your mind.

Facebook has announced that the company will work to make its Messenger smartphone app easier to use than ever before. The social networking site is now rediscovering its new version. There will be three tabs instead of nine tabs. Facebook says that seven years after the launch of the Facebook Messenger app, Facebook is again heading towards its original design which has followed simplicity while designing the UI.

 

Messenger Chief Stan Chudnovsky made a statement that,

“We make another feature after a feature. All these are getting accumulated. This is no longer just a normal messenger app, people can do other things including video calls, sending money and other things.”

After new updates to Facebook Messenger, you will find three tabs that include People, Stories and Active Users. Let me say that every month about 10 billion messages are sent across business and common people.

It is worth noting that in a recent report, it was claimed that there is a feature to delete messages in Facebook Messenger. A screenshot of this feature is also revealed. Now similar to the Whatsapp, you will now be able to delete the messages sent in Facebook Messenger. This feature is currently being released in the updated version.

Xiaomi has finally launched the Mi Mix 3 in an event held in China. Talking about the features of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, it will get 4 cameras and will have massive 10 GB RAM. This phone has a slider camera which has made the bezel-less display possible on this device. In the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, there is support for fast charging and it comes with a 10-watt charger.

What are the Specifications of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3?

This phone will get Android Oreo 8.1 based MiUI 10 with dual SIM support. Mi Mix 3 has a 6.4 inch Full HD Plus OLED display, which has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and aspect ratio 19.5: 9. Apart from this, it has Qualcomm  Snapdragon 845 processor in the phone and has been given Adreno 630 GPU for improved graphics. Mi Mix 3 will get up to 256 GB of storage with up to 10 GB of RAM.

 

What are the features of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3?

Talking about Mi Mix 3 camera, this phone has a dual rear camera of which primary camera is of 12 MP and the secondary is a 12 MP telephoto lens. There is a 20 MP + 2 MP dual camera at the front too which slides through the top of the phone. Both cameras support AI and have their respective flashlight. The slider camera in the front will come up with a command.

The variant having 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant comes with a price tag of 3,299 Chinese yuan i.e. about 34,800 INR, whereas the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is worth 3,599 Chinese yuan i.e. about 37,900 INR. We also have 8gb RAM + 256GB storage variant which has a price tag of 3,999 Chinese Yuan i.e. about 42,100 INR. There is also a special edition of this phone which will have 256 GB of storage with 10 GB RAM. The price of the special variant is 4,999 Chinese Yuan i.e. about 52,700 INR.

China’s smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched the world’s first smartphone having massive 10 Gigs of RAM, the Xiaomi Black Shark Helo. Xiaomi has recently launched this phone in China. The mighty Black Shark Helo is an upgraded version of the Xiaomi Black Shark launched in April earlier this year. Xiaomi Black Shark Helo’s biggest competitors are the Razor Phone 2 and the ROG phone from Asus. Talking about the valuable features in this phone, it has liquid cooling technology which will not allow the phone to warm up while intensive gaming with 10 Gigs of RAM.

Price of Xiaomi Black Shark Helo:

The gaming phone by Xiaomi which is the Black Shark Helo will come with a price tag of 3,199 Chinese Yuan i.e. around 34,100 INR. This variant will have 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. While the 10 GB RAM variant and 256 GB storage variant costs around 4199 Chinese Yuan i.e. about 44,500 INR. Initial sales will start in the Chinese Province.

Specifications of Xiaomi Black Shark Helo:

The Black Shark Helo has dual sim support and a 6.01 inch full HD plus display, which has a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels and aspect ratio 18: 9. Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor powers the Black Shark Helo, it has Adreno 630 GPU, 6GB, 8GB, and 10GB RAM options with 128 GB and 256 GB of internal storage.

Talking about the phone’s camera, it has a dual rear camera of 12 MP and 20 MP. The front camera is also 20 MP. This phone has a 4000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 For connectivity, the phone has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS. Apart from that, it comes with additional mods for gaming which make the gaming experience much better on any gaming phone out there.

 

All in all the Black Shark Helo looks like a promising gaming phone besides the existing Asus ROG & the Razer Phone 2. This device may or may not perform better when compared to its competitors but we’ll answer this question in our full review soon.
