The Curly Girl Method Might Save Your Hair!

0

Ask any curly-haired person if they love their hair, and you’re likely to get an answer on the lines of, “Eh, I like it better when it’s straight.” Most people with textured hair grow up with annoying nicknames. It becomes increasingly difficult for them to accept their hair as it is as they grow up. Every salon will tell them to burn their hair into socially acceptable straightness, even if it ruins their hair for good.

However, this horrid reality could change. There’s a way you can wear your hair naturally curly, and still look amazing!

Shakira SHakira
All you need to know is how to take care of it. Duh!

There are celebrities like Kangana Ranaut, Taapsee Pannu, Zendaya and even Shakira who flaunt their natural curls proudly. If you think your curls could never look as good as theirs, read on; you’re missing out on a whole lot of awesomeness, honey.

The natural hair movement first started within the African community, but with time it has become popular among women and men of other races as well. Beautiful woman with dark hair and perfect skinWith curly hair products emerging in the Indian market, many of which are produced by Indians themselves, people have started to wear their textured hair the way it naturally it is – in a healthy and organic way!

What is the Curly Girl Method?

Hairstylist Lorraine Massey developed the Curly Girl Method or CGM after facing discrimination at her workplace because of her textured hair. She gives a detailed list of do’s and don’ts that will come handy in your journey to achieve perfectly healthy, beautiful looking curls.

Lorraine Massey (@curlyworldllc)

Even though this is called the Curly Girl Method, it can be followed by men with textured hair as well. The method advises you to refrain from using several things that are commonly found in most commercial hair products:

  1. Sulphates: Found aplenty in commercial shampoos, sulphates are a big no-no as they are extremely drying for the already dry and frizzy curly hair. Interestingly, sulphates are harsh detergents that are also used for cleaning engines.
  2. Silicones: They are what makes your hair shiny – for like a day. Found in conditioners, silicones will cause you a lot of frizz in the long run. They also cause build-up, making your scalp feel greasy.
  3. Parabens and Mineral Oils: They’re preservatives, and moisturisers found in many cosmetic products, but are known to have a generally lousy effect on the human body.
  4. Alcohol: Like sulphates, alcohol is also drying for hair.

CGM also advises against dry combing, as it frizzes up hair and opens up clumps of curls. CGM also encourages you to forego shampooing altogether; however, there are a few things you need to know before you decide what’s best for you.

Curl Pattern

There are multiple charts available on the internet that can help you identify your curl pattern. Ranging from straight to kinky, there’s more to hair than just ‘straight’ or ‘curly’. identify your curl pattern. Ranging from straight to kinky,Knowing your curl pattern will help you determine what products you can use, as the products available in the market are very specific.

Porosity

Hair porosity means the ability of your hair to absorb moisture and water. There are three porosity types:

  1. Low Porosity: The most common kind of hair porosity, it’s the way most virgin, untreated hair is, i.e., if you have never had any relaxers or colour put in your hair, your hair is likely to have low porosity. If you have low porosity hair, your hair does not absorb moisture easily and needs a little heat to open up hair cuticles. It also means products leave behind a lot of build-ups, which is why you can’t forego shampoo altogether completely. You can also get away with using a very little amount of product.
  2. Normal Porosity: Your hair absorbs moisture easily, and is also able to retain it. This kind of hair needs the least amount of work, which means you have hit the curly hair jackpot. Congratulations!
  3. High Porosity: If you have ever had relaxers or colours put in your hair, or you have used a lot of heat on your hair in the past. You are likely to have high porosity hair. With high porosity, your hair absorbs moisture easily but also lets go of it quickly. This kind of hair tends to be overly dry and needs a ton of products. Your hair is always thirsty for moisture, and heavy products work well on it.

There’s an array of products that are specifically made for curly hair in the international market, and recently, there even has been a fresh wave of Indian products that will help you nourish those curls the way they’re supposed to be.

Companies like Ashba Botanics and Curl Up are Indian brands that make products best suited for the people living in India, which is important because a lot of western products behave weirdly in the hot Indian climate.

There’s also loads of earlier unavailable knowledge and awareness about curly hair that can help you through the entire process. In fact, there are groups for kinky-haired people in social media where people shared their experiences and suggest DIYs and their favourite products for everyone to try. In conclusion, there’s never been a better time to flaunt your curls!

Life in the Hills Post Removal of Article 370 | Effects and Consequences | Present Scenario

0

The serenity and elegance of the snow-covered peaks and the clean, refreshing view of the Dal Lake attract thousands of people to the beautiful valleys of Jammu and Kashmir from all over the world. Enriched in culture and beauty, the peaceful and calm mountains of Kashmir is suffering brutally for over six decades now.

The controversies and conflicts between the two countries of India and Pakistan have led to many merciless blood sheddings, and the life of the mountains has been facing significant turbulence for years. Several terror groups of our beloved neighbouring country attack the valleys from time to time, and the gunfights between the military and the terrorists lead to the loss of many innocent lives of the mountains as well. The residents were tired of suffering and pain, and it seemed that this struggle was not going to end any sooner.

What is Article 370?

what is article 370

Our country is trying to improve the conditions from long to bring back the lost harmony of the hills. Article 370 has been a part of our constitution from the year when India became an independent nation, but none of the governing bodies did think of making any changes to it until the present ruling party who decided to remove the unnecessary article.

Article 370 provided a special status to Jammu and Kashmir in terms of autonomy and its ability to formulate laws for the permanent residents of the valleys. The fundamental rights of the Indian Constitution were guaranteed to the citizens of Kashmir with exceptions, and now these fundamental rights have been restored.

After-effects of the scrapping of Article 370

life after removal of article 370

From the day when Modi Government announced the changes, Srinagar has been turned into a city of barricades with enhanced security measures. Several roads have been blocked and the newly formed separate Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has been ensured with complete protection from the militaries in order to maintain safety of the citizens as the ruling body could sense that the residents may choose the road to violence and terror if the newly made changes of the Constitution agitate them by any chance.

Most of the tourists have been asked to leave the state, and on the other part, the people of the valleys are still stuck in a state of confusion, shock and anger. Amidst the curfew, Ladakh was being noticed celebrating the Independence day with joy and refreshment. But the communication blackout has been causing a significant problem in the lives of citizens as managing their daily rations and providing medical support to the patients has put them in a helpless condition. Though the roads are filled with ambulances, as the helpline numbers are down, providing proper treatment to the patients in the right moment is seeming to be next to impossible.

The people are burning with anger, mainly because of two reasons. On one hand, the mobiles, telephones, internet and other messaging tools are not working in the valley since the past two weeks, and on the other part, they are feeling that the rights which they were enjoying for years have been taken away abruptly and undemocratically.

Present Scenario of the Valley

modi addresses Kashmir

The tourism-dependent citizens are facing huge disappointment as this is the peak season for vacationists and all bookings have been cancelled due to the curfew and security restrictions in the hills. The limited chances of business at this point of time is filling their minds with horror and frustration.

In the middle of a quiet city, only a handful of shops are open as the residents are not being allowed to move from one place to another and thus most of the state is feeling like a dessert. On the evening of Eid, our prime minister reached out to the people of the valleys and promised them a better future with a rise in development, job opportunities and educational opportunities.

But the major test seems to begin now, as the Government need to remove poverty from the newly built union territories in order to restore social peace and normality.

Sacred Games Season 2 Review

0

The most anticipated TV series of Netflix has finally released. Viewers of Netflix were eagerly waiting for Sacred games 2. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pankaj Tripathi got an overwhelming response from the audience.

Both of them took the crime thriller to the next level. The star cast, including Saif Ali Khan, kept the audience on the edge of the seat. Season 2 reveals the hidden mystery. Season 2 also answered several questions that were raised in season 1.

Cast

Sacred games season 2 review

Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddique transformed their roles into more interesting characters. The new season also introduced Pankaj Tripathi, Kalki Koechlin, Amruta Subhash, and Ranvir Shorey.

The streaming of Sacred Games 2 started streaming from midnight on 15th August. The crime thriller under the direction of Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan got a hugely positive response.

Story

Sacred games season 2 review

The storyline begins from the same point where season 1 ended. In the season 2 also the scriptwriter Varun Grover gave a masterpiece. He maintained the thing “thinking out of the box.” There are a total of 8 episodes. All of them are directed correctly.

The criminal mastermind Gaitonde is dead, and Sartaj and his team are planning to save the city from the blast. Only fourteen days left for the explosion. And at the same time, Sartaj is dealing with his issues also. Both the situations are running parallelly. One is Gaitonde’s life, and another one is solving the mystery.

Gaitonde’s breath escaped from Mumbai and got stuck in Kenya. The story initially remains slow but soon after the second episode catches the pace. Gaitonde and Sartaj both were betrayed in love, and both were involved with their past.

Performances

The direction is one of the brilliant aspects of the season. Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan played a crucial role in direction. Their leadership is excellent. No doubt, they have given their best for the story to make it secure. Not just the star cast; however, every department played equally important roles. The series is perfect for monsoon weekend.

The script and screenplay are brilliant. For many Netflix lovers who watched Sacred Games Season 1, they do not feel anything extraordinary. According to many viewers Sacred games, two did not match their expectations. The first three episodes are slow. It makes the audience lost somewhere. However, the story gained its pace after the second part.

The entire series is just the way how Sartaj is saving the city from the blast. Nawaz played a brilliant role as usual. His acting skills are just breadth taking. His acting was one of the primary reasons for making the audience grabbing the seat. Pankaj Tripathi again proved that the is one of the best actors of the Hindi film industry.

He represented himself as “Guruji.” This man also showed that he is perfect for any roles. Saif Ali Khan played his role perfectly as he does in the movies. In season 2, we do not see the return of Radhika Apte. Kalki Koechlin played her role efficiently. Though she was offered as a side actress. However, she maintained the brand of sacred games.

Ending

Sacred Games 2 got several reviews, and in the majority of cases, the end disappoints the viewers. Many of the viewers claimed that the end could be better. Does Sartaj diffuse the bomb? This question raises another question of whether the audience is getting season 3.

The purpose of season 2 made the viewers hungry for season 3. If season 3 comes, then the base of the story will be the diffusion of the bomb. This season is one of the most open-ended TV series of Netflix.

Conclusion

Sacred Games season 2 is perfect for watching in this monsoon. It is also ideal for the weekend. The series makes the audience glued throughout. Performance from the lead actors was mind-blowing. Viewers can enjoy a perfect crime thriller TV series.

Every department of the brand worked hard. However, the ending is not satisfying for many audiences. The climax is open-ended which says that there are possibilities for season 3.
