At the very first sight, packaging quality of Redmi Y2 is really great. With all red solid colored box makes your eyes sparkle. The box is neat & clean with all the necessary details printed on it. It says Made in India but I guess it has only assembled here & the actual hardware is manufactured in China.
Coming to the features of the Redmi Y2, it starts with the usual process of setting up a Google Account & then native MI account to sync your settings. It asks you a question whether you want to use it as a ‘New User’ or ‘Import data from an old device’. After successful setup, it will fetch some updates for pre-installed apps & also starts downloading bloatware which I find quite annoying.
Display
Looking at the display, it has HD+ resolution with a pretty perfect screen to body ratio for the perfect viewing experience. Also, it feels comfortable to hold the device in the landscape mode. It is essentially useful if you are an avid entertainment consumer. The Sound quality is quite amazing on Redmi Y2 looking at the price range.
Cameras & Security
Both the cameras are excellent & consist of just enough camera modes to shoot. You will surely love them. Due to the thin design of the Redmi Y2, the Camera has a slight bump on the backside. So the chances of getting scratches on the camera lens are relatively high. It is better to protect your Camera by using the case provided with the phone all the time. Talking about security features, it consists of triple security mode where you can set PIN, Password & Pattern. You also get a decent Face Unlock mechanism which works great & the very common Fingerprint Unlock which is also productive.
Multitasking & Gestures
Talking about multitasking, it has native PIP feature which is of great convenience. Also, switching between app is now easier with optional gesture feature which is very simple to use. All you need to do is get knowledge about the swipe gestures & all the necessary actions are performed. Switches are quick & even high-end graphics games are playable on this device. You can resume any game after replying to your messages, emails or after receiving calls.
Performance
Gaming performance is really smooth & with 3GB RAM, proper hardware utilization, you won’t feel any lag. Due to the big screen, the gaming experience becomes more immersive. You also have a great grip on the device due to its excellent build. The processor does a great job of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Overall, Redmi Y2 is more than what you can ask for in 10K price range. The Redmi Y2 has a lot more to offer & has convenient features which will make you feel amazed every single time you use it.
